The Law Handbook Fact Sheets kit - an easy to understand guide to the law and related services

The Fitzroy Legal Service has produced The Law Handbook Fact Sheets kit, an easy to read compilation of reference guides to the law. The Fact Sheets are written for the consumer and community worker to navigate the law that most often affect people in every day life.

Each Fact Sheet covers the main points in a particular area of the law and includes contact details to relevant community, government and legal services. These Fact Sheets will help community workers access legal services and provide their clients with simple and clear legal information.

The kits consist of 40 Fact Sheets and cover topics such as: understanding the legal system, arrest and bail, fines and infringements, family law, community organisations and community activism, buying and selling your home, dealing with the ombudsman, VCAT, privacy law and aged care. The kits are presented in a ring binder folder for easy use.

The Fitzroy Legal Service is offering these kits FREE to CIVic members. To receive a kit, please register your interest by emailing publications@fitzroy-legal.org.au or call 9411 1307.

The Fact Sheets are also available on the web at www.lawhandbook.org.au
